Providence Manager Coding-Torrance in Torrance, California


Oversees departmental workflow and resources utilized. Supervises all aspects of the Compliance Education Department. Develops and implements internal quality assessment processes for Facey Medical Foundation (FMF) coders, including physician educators and Revenue Cycle coding personnel, to ensure compliance with national coding guidelines and industry regulations, as well as adherence to FMF Company coding policies. Provides coding and compliance direction and support to Facey Medical Group physicians and other professional and support staff to ensure quality and consistency of Health Insurance Portability And Accountability approved datasets: International Classification of Diseases both 9th and 10th Revisions Clinical Modification, Current Procedural Terminology Fourth Edition, Healthcare Common Procedural Coding System Level II and Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience.

  • Certified Professional Coder certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or a Certified Coding Specialist- Physician (CCS-P) through AHIM may substitute.

  • 7 years experience in professional fee revenue cycle (coding, billing, denials) experience in a medical group. Preferable multi-specialty.

  • 5 years supervisory experience with billing and/or coding staff.

  • 5 years experience in professional fee CPT, ICD and HCPCs coding and reading of medical record documentation.

  • 2 years experience working with EMR to include documentation, charge capture and workqueues.

  • 2 years experience in billing compliance to include research and navigation of government guidelines and regulations related to billing, coding and documentation.

  • 2 years experience in training providers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Quality measure experience.

  • HCC Coding experience.

About the Team

Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care.
