Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse

$5,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

Location: Napa, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

The Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse coordinates and provides care in the home care setting to patients with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, acute and/or chronic wounds, and incontinence. Patient care will reflect the physician/agency/health system philosophy and high standards of nursing care for patients. The care includes providing hands-on care as well as education to the patient and PCG(s). Instructs nurses, physicians, and other health care team members in the care of patients with ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, acute or chronic wounds, and incontinence. Performs related supply management and documentation tasks.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Completes necessary education to attain a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse Certification.

  • 1 year Nursing experience;

  • Current RN licensure.

  • Current Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON).

  • Basic Life Support.

  • CA Driver’s license.

  • Auto insurance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years Nursing experience;

  • 1 year CWOCN (ET) experience.

  • 1 year Home health experience.

  • Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse Certification (CWOCN).

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life. Our service lines include assisted living/skilled nursing/rehabilitation, home health, home infusion/pharmacy services, home medical equipment, hospice and palliative care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), personal home services/private duty care and supportive housing.
