Data Engineer at Revenue Cycle Business Services

Under the direction of the Sr Data Management Manager, the Data Engineer II will be responsible for the collection, organization, analysis, and management of financial data. He/She will have the opportunity to work with diverse data types from millions of patient accounts in acute and non-acute settings. He/She will leverage cloud computing & big data platforms and software development methodologies and frameworks. By using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data strategy, scheduling, and other data management methods, they will serve as a key member of a team that engineers data & reporting platforms and brings forth best practice approach to data management. To succeed, the Engineer will interact comfortably and independently with Revenue Cycle leaders, subject matter experts and other departments, as they identify impactful findings in revenue cycle data, and design strong data visualizations communicating key information across the organization.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Health Informatics, etc. or equivalent educ/experience

  • 1 year experience of Data Analytics experience in a healthcare environment

  • 3 years experience with database query and analysis languages (e.g. SQL, R, SAS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3)

  • 3 years experience with database structures, data definitions, and data relationships sufficient to understand and utilize complex data models with multifaceted record relationships, key structures, and record identification schemas

Preferred qualifications:

  • Upon hire: SQL Certification

  • 3+ years experience of Data Analytics experience in a healthcare environment

  • 5+ years experience with database query and analysis languages (e.g. SQL, R, SAS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3)

  • 5+ years experience with database structures, data definitions, and data relationships sufficient to understand and utilize complex data models with multifaceted record relationships, key structures, and record identification schemas
